A support group for people affected by covid 19

This is a support group for people who want to exchange their experiences and feelings surrounding the pandemic. Participants of the group can offer support to one another in a friendly, safe and supportive environment. No experience of groupwork is necessary, and everyone is welcome. If you are suffering from social, psychological or medical issues, or any ill affects following the pandemic, this group could offer you the support you need.

Social Effects

Some of the social effects people are struggling with include; social anxiety, loss of social skills, loneliness, isolation and trust issues.

Psychological Effects

Some of the psychological effects people are experiencing include; depression, trauma, grief, burnout, sleep disorders, substance abuse, cognitive fatigue, health anxiety, guilt and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Medical Effects

Some of the medical effects people are dealing with include; long covid, weight gain, cardiovascular issues, respiratory damage, metabolic disorders, reproductive issues, vision impairment, skin disorders and delayed medical care.

Specific Information

This small support group is a slow-open group, which means people can join after it has started. The group will run for a minimum of 30 weeks and is an in-person support group. The group will take place every Tuesday in Stanpit during the academic term and will consist of a maximum of 8 people who are struggling with various effects from the pandemic. Each session will be 90 minutes long, delivered weekly.

Where can I park?

The venue is a short walk away from Stanpit Marsh Car Park. There is street parking in the area and one disbaled parking space outside the premise.

How much does it cost?

Each 90 minutes session costs £10, but I ask that you pay in larger installments to help me keep track of payments. Ideally in blocks of 5 (£50).

How long do I need to commit for?

This depends on when you join the group, but ideally a commitment of at least 15 sessions. If you are joining at the begining of the group then ideally you will commit to 30 sessions. I will need to meet with you for an individual consultation to see if you are appropriate for the group. This consultation is free of charge, but is a requirement as part of the onboarding process.
